Home affordability improves broadly in 3Q24
November 12, 2024 - HSH.com releases today its latest quarterly Home Affordability Study, an updated analysis of the income a potential homebuyer will need to earn to buy a median-priced existing home in each of the top 50 metropolitan areas.
Lower mortgage rates and seasonally-lower median home prices during the third quarter saw the income needed to purchase a median-priced home decline in 28 metropolitan areas compared to the same period one year ago. It was the largest number of metros with improved home affordability since the second quarter of 2020.
Home Value Tracker: Upturn in Home Values, Again
